Truliant Federal Credit Union has promoted Sherri Thomas to the role of senior vice president, human resources and organizational development. In this role, Thomas has assumed full responsibility for Truliant’s human resources and organizational development department. The department is responsible for employee relations and administration of employee benefits.
“Sherri’s leadership, dedication and enthusiasm in each role she has been given, along with her excellent management and development of key skills-based training programs, have helped to define our employee culture and shape the member experience at Truliant,” said Marc Schaefer, president and CEO. “In her new position, she will continue the work that directly benefits our members by placing talented individuals in place throughout our organization.”
Thomas joined Truliant in 2010 as regional director of Truliant’s Central Region of Member Financial Centers. In 2011, she was named vice president of member experience for the credit union’s entire Member Financial Center network.
Transitioning in 2013 to the position of vice president, member experience for Truliant’s Member Contact Center and Member Channel Support, Thomas played a key role in skills assessment, training needs, coaching and employee development at Truliant.
In 2014, she was named vice president of organizational development and recruiting, overseeing the implementation of Truliant’s new applicant tracking system. Placed in charge of human resources in early 2017, Thomas led the department through several program transitions and the introduction of a new performance-based merit system.
Thomas holds a master of business administration from Elon University and a bachelor of science in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She resides in Oak Ridge with her husband Ronald and three sons.
