GREENSBORO, NC (September 21, 2017) – Greensboro City Manager Jim Westmoreland has announced the selection of Stan Wilson as the City’s new Neighborhood Development Department director. Wilson, who officially starts his new role on October 16, served as executive director of the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority in Greenville, SC since 2015. Previously he was the executive director of the Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency from 2011 to 2015 and housing director for the City of Charlotte from 1998 to 2010.
“I am looking forward to having Stan join the City of Greensboro team and leading the Neighborhood Development Department,” says City Manager Jim Westmoreland. “Stan’s deep  experience in community and neighborhood development, housing, and government funding and operations will all be essential to our organization as we move forward in implementing Council’s priorities for safe and affordable housing, code enforcement, and 2016 bond program implementation”.
Wilson has served on numerous boards of directors and advisory committees for agencies, such as NC Housing Coalition and Hope Haven Inc. He has also been active as a youth mentor with Communities in Schools and Goodwill Goodguides.
Originally from Springfield, Ma., Wilson earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration and management from Western New England University.
